Client Example: Talent Strategy and Org Development

Partnered with a financial services institution to drive organizational change by aligning people, process, systems and programs with a newly emerging business strategy.

This included developing and executing a talent and diversity strategy based on clients’ changing expectations for how to engage with financial advisors. The goal was to systematically reshape how the business operated to better serve current and future client needs. We provided OD guidance and talent programs to support an organizational redesign and restructuring, instituted the first formal talent review, and developed several mechanisms to build capability based on the outcomes.

One of the most significant opportunities pursued was embracing market diversity as a catalyst for growth. An environment of changing demographics and unprecedented wealth transfer required reframing how market and talent potential was viewed–which meant designing, communicating and implementing several new approaches and tools in the areas of market intelligence, business planning, recruiting, teaming, talent development and technology–and then holding people accountable for results. Several people across multiple functions were engaged to jumpstart this new way of doing business.

As a result, financial advisors gained greater insight and access to client markets, differentiated themselves from competitors, accelerated profitability and growth, and importantly, engaged with clients in a more meaningful and relevant way.
